Introduction

The Sky Bringup, LLC ("we", "our", or "us") operates the FoodLens mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App.

Information We Collect

We are committed to collecting only the minimum information necessary to provide our service.

  • Device Identifier: A randomly generated anonymous ID used solely for rate limiting API requests. This ID cannot be used to identify you personally.
  • Usage Data: Anonymous, aggregated analytics (via TelemetryDeck) to understand how the App is used and improve functionality. No personal data is included.
  • Purchase Information: Handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store payment information.

Device Permissions

The App may request the following device permissions:

  • Camera: Used to capture photos for AI analysis. Photos are processed in real-time and sent to our AI service for analysis. We do not store photos on our servers after processing is complete.
  • Photo Library: Used to select existing photos for analysis. Selected photos are processed the same way as camera photos and are not retained on our servers.

How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and maintain the App's core functionality
  • To enforce usage limits and prevent abuse
  • To analyze anonymous usage patterns and improve the App

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Google Gemini (via OpenRouter): Provides AI analysis. Image data is sent to Google's servers for processing. Please review Google's AI Terms.
  • TelemetryDeck: Privacy-friendly analytics that does not collect personal data. See TelemetryDeck's Privacy Policy.
  • Apple App Store: Handles all purchases and payment processing.

Data Retention

Images submitted for analysis are processed in real-time and are not stored on our servers after the response is delivered. Anonymous analytics data is retained for up to 12 months. Device identifiers used for rate limiting are automatically expired after 30 days of inactivity.

Data Security

All data transmitted between the App and our servers is encrypted using TLS (HTTPS). We implement industry-standard security measures to protect the limited data we process.

Children's Privacy

Our App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

Your Rights

Since we collect minimal anonymous data, there is very little personal information associated with your use of the App. If you have any concerns about your data, you may contact us at any time to request information about or deletion of any data we may hold.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
